Third Party Access

IU Bloomington students now have the ability to authorize another person, such as a parent or guardian, to view specific types of personal information in the Student Information System (SIS) through OneStart (https://onestart.iu.edu). Individuals granted third party access will have the ability to view personal information such as financial aid award and summary information, descriptions of holds on records, grades, unofficial transcripts, and class and final exam schedules.

Students can assign third party access by logging into OneStart (https://onestart.iu.edu), going to the Services tab, select the Self-Service link in the sidebar, and in Personal Info, select Assign Access to 3rd Parties (Parents/Guardians).  Students must create a unique username and password for each authorized viewer.

To access the student’s information using a third party account, the authorized viewer should click the Public Services link in the sidebar in OneStart (https://onestart.iu.edu ), and in Public Self-Service, select View Student Information. Then enter the student’s 10-digit University ID number, and your username and password.

Students may revoke authorization at any time by removing permission from a third party viewer through OneStart.

Detailed instructions regarding this service are available through the University Information Technology Services Knowledge Base at: http://kb.iu.edu/data/auoz.html.
