Prerequisites
Many course sections have mandatory prerequisites which are listed in the school bulletins or in the on-line version of the Schedule of Classes. Each student is responsible for meeting the published prerequisite for each course requested. After each registration period, schools and departments may review the completion of prerequisites of registered students. The academic units have the authority to administratively drop a student from a course for which the student has not fulfilled the published prerequisite.
Early Registration
All students who are enrolled on the Bloomington campus during one academic term are automatically given a registration appointment for the following term.
[See Official Calendar for Early Registration dates]
New Student Registration
All students who are enrolling on the Bloomington campus for the first time are eligible to register during New Student Registration. This includes all new undergraduate students, new graduate students, and inter-campus transfer students.
In addition, all returning students who were not enrolled on the Bloomington campus during the previous academic term are eligible to register at this time.
[See Official Calendar for New Student Registration dates]
Late Registration
Last opportunity to register using the Student Center in OneStart. All students have had an opportunity to register prior to this date during Early Registration or New Student Registration.
NOTE: A late registration fee is assessed. Waiver of the late registration fee will be considered only when it can be clearly demonstrated that the University, through one of its offices or officials, is directly responsible for the late registration.
[See Official Calendar for Late Registration dates]
Late Registration After 1st Week of Classes

Fee Information
Beginning with the 2005-06 academic year, paper bills will no longer be generated for bursar account activity. All students will receive an email when the monthly bill is available on the web. In addition any authorized payer created by the student has the option of receiving these bill notifications.
If you have not received an email notification of bill availability by ten days following the expected notification date, please access your online statement immediately through OneStart. Failure to receive the bill notification will not be accepted as a reason for missing the payment deadline.
To avoid a late payment penalty, the student's payment must be received by the date
published on the Office of the Bursar's
Billing Calendar
.
Registration Cancellation
Failure to pay does not withdraw you from all classes. Should you decide not to attend the
Bloomington campus, you must follow the procedures for withdrawal
from the University
. There is no automatic cancellation of your registration for nonpayment.
If you do not withdraw properly, you risk receiving grades of F in your courses. You will
also be responsible for all course fees, plus any applicable late fees, through the time you
complete a total withdrawal. (See the Office of the Bursar's
Fee Refund Policy
)
